How long will my application take?

For applications submitted in the UK the time it takes to process an application varies a lot, depending on the volume of work and applications received by the Home Office and how well substantiated the application is.

The Home Office publishes information on waiting times for a few categories only; you can find them through this Google search. For nationality applications, there's a Waiting Times page.

For visa applications made abroad, the Home Office publishes a guide for information on how long a visa application may take to be processed, based on latest processing time performance for each visa application centre and main visa type. The information is updated each month.
